Hewlett Packard Proliant DL320 G5 Server Quickspecs. HP Insight Control management suites and most HP ProLiant Essentials include a one year of 24 x 7 HP Software Technical Support and Update Service ensuring rapid access to HP support staff and proactive delivery of software updates. For more information. HP ProLiant DL320 G5 Drivers Download This page contains the list of device drivers for HP ProLiant DL320 G5. To download the proper driver, first choose your operating system, then find your device name and click the download button. I've tried every keystroke I can think of (F9, F1, F2, Esc, Del, Ctrl-Esc) at boot but still can't get this HP DL380-G5 to go into the BIOS setup screen. Any suggestions. SOLVED How to get to BIOS on HP DL380-G5 - Spiceworks.

  • The DL160 G6 does not boot, does not do post, but instead just powers on fans at full speed. I reseated ram, procs, hard drives with no luck.
  • I should mention that when I powered it on, installed ESXi, and shut it down so I could bring it to another location (traveling distance <2 min by foot)
  • Once plugged in to the new location it powers on at full fan speed, no post, no video output, no usb power

  • This looks like a recurring issue and the solution isn't too bad: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/DL360-G5-fans-running-at-full-speed-and-won-t-boot/td-p/4258310#.U8GZFPldUiU

  • It says to reset the NVRAM. How do I actually reset the NVRAM?
  • It says to move the jumper to another slot: A,B,C,D
  • http://imgur.com/bTu8GBG (Reference image for motherboard)
  • However there is no jumper or plug plugged in

  • Anyone with any experience or insight I would greatly appreciate it

Cheers :)

You're all kidding and yanking his chain, right?

Take a piece of metal and touch the two pins to short them out.

The only question I have is whether the machine needs to be powered on with the jumper in/pins shorted to clear NVRAM.

Helloo @RICKITY,

There are many things to understand here.

Is the controller not getting detected inside the OS or Outside the OS.(POST)

Please try updating to latest drivers and update firmware using the below link, if the issue persists even after updating the firmware, Issue is with the controller and needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again !!

Hi GBL84 thanks for your response , I have read the information from link , but I have some additional questions:

according to the pre requisites :

Updating the HP DL360G5 System ROM to revision P58 3/9/08 or higher is required in addition
to updating to this HP Smart Array firmware revision for the modified shutdown sequence to ensure
sufficient time for HDD head parking of internal HDDs.

Updating the HP MSA 60 and/or MSA 70 firmware version to 2.16 or higher is required to enable dual domain functionality

I got the information from the Server installed now and the HP BIOS P56 08/03/2008 , Backup Version -08/03/2008 , Boot Block -01/09/2008

according to this , would we need to upgrade the HP Bios to System ROM to revision P58 3/9/08 or higher, and HP MSA 60 and/or MSA 70 firmware version to 2.16?

if so , how could we get them ?

because the server can not boot properly because the smart array P400 problem , how could we to install System ROM to revision P58 3/9/08 or higher , HP MSA 60 and/or MSA 70 firmware version to 2.16 and the upgrade from smart array P400 ?

Do you know any procedure to install them from boot ? we would appreciate this information

Thanks for your support

Best Regards

Ricardo

Hp Proliant Dl320 G5 Bios Update

‎04-04-201712:23 PM

Hi GBL84 , thanks for your response

That we would need just the executable to update the HP BIOS as I mentioned before , 2.16 MD and the SMART ARRAY P400 ( 7.24B) that we have downloaded the executable but it would need to update the BIOS just if we use the 7.24B version

this machine was installed some years ago and the guys used all the drivers delivered by HP , it was 2008 year , the Server has installed an application which it should be handled carefully and we would need just the additional to achieve that the SMART ARRAY P400 work properly .

from the components I could see CP011324 Smart Array SAS /SATA Controller driver , CP010920 HP Proliant PCI-express Power Management update for windows. Raid card is installed into PCI express slot .

I do not see anything related to BIOS update , there are around 50 compenents

do you have the component related to HP BIOS only , I understand that if we change the BIOS we should update others components according to avoid any incompatibility , but this is the situation

Thanks for your support

Best Regards

Ricardo
