I get family loyalty, but there was this sneaky sense of, “If you really love me, you’ll do things my way” that was always present in conversations and influencing actions.

Pfeffer is very good at fleshing her characters out and making them real. Susan Beth Pfeffer is a master story teller in such a unique way, she portrays immense levels of human emotions in her characters.
